Whatismusic in Melbourne

When planning your perfect getaway in Melbourne, luxury hotel accommodations can be the most important consideration.  Having a place to always come back to, night after night, can give your trip a center, and the more gracious the lodgings, the more gracious the center.  We’ve taken great care to select the best hotels in the business, and ones which have excellent reputations for service and style.  Comfort is a given here, as our hotels have all the splendid amenities one would expect from luxury accommodations, and the staff goes the extra distance to help you relax and rejuvenate.  The service is truly spectacular, blending the old and the new, so that you have access to all the latest features and with an attitude of old-world hospitality.

The sense of style and design here are also first-rate.  Taking their cues from the international scene in Melbourne, the hotels are an otherworldly experience in understated chic.  After a good night’s rest and a fantastic meal, you’ll be ready to see the city.  Melbourne is a very lively urban center.  There are a host of excellent attractions that will please every member of the family.  There is also a terrific nightlife, because Melbourne has been on the cutting edge of culture for a few decades now.  There is always something new, and if music is one of your passions, check into seeing one of the events put on by Whatismusic .  This organization serves three cities. Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, and seeks to find musicians at the top of their game, and offer events that challenge their technical and creative chops.

Whatismusic also sponsors straight-up concerts featuring new and innovative talents, to contribute to the world music scene, and also to highlight the experimentation going on locally. They also put on shows that have unique twists, such as an acoustic-only festival.  In 2009, they are putting together a show where 50 bands will play for 50 minutes, all in a single room. This kind of boldness and audacity is what makes Whatismusic so interesting, and so vital to the artistic health of the community.  If you happen to be in Melbourne in December, this event promises to be an exciting logistical mess, and it just might suggest pathways for the future of music.
