The Hunter Valley Road Trip from Sydney

Sydney, Australia has it all, from fabulous architecture, world class museums and galleries, ballet, opera, incredible beaches , restaurants, and luxury hotels.  Sydney is also located very close to Hunter Valley .  Located just two hours North from the city, this area is home to wineries.  Beautiful wineries.  Many living in the city travel to Hunter Valley just for day trips, although there are locations in the Valley to find over night accommodations.  This is advisable, especially if one plans to do some tasting.  And as the scenery is incredible, and the services are hospitable and wonderful, it is just a nice getaway, and the stay over night guarantees not only a relaxing experience, but a fun one as well.  One can simply rent a car to drive the two hours, however, the wineries have a service which will take one from their hotel in Sydney to the Valley, and back again, in the luxury of a Mercedes SUV.

There are many wineries located in this region, and a wine tour may be something one may benefit from.  The smaller wineries have some unique varietals and wines, as well as a more personal style of service.  And should one fine a wine that suits their palette, one will most likely find it in Hunter Valley at a price that is far below the prices in the larger cities.  The tours are good for the information, and also for the driver, as tasting wines the entire day will make one appreciate that driver.  This is a tour not just of the wineries but of the entire region as well, through the countryside, with the landscapes and the local bird and animal life.  The driver details the different growers and the histories of each, this is an informative, safe and relaxing tour.  Gourmet lunches are served, or one may choose from one of the local cafes or bistros .  Along with the wines, this is an opportunity to taste some of the finest cheeses and chocolates as well.
